Im setting up a fictitious Business name and I am going to be sending (say) web design jobs to this DBA from my job. I will be outsourcing those to other people that will do it cheaper so that I make a profit. I am setting up a consulting Business per say. Is this legal in California.
Outsourcing jobs to myself from the company I work for.

Basically I designed a home page (web page)in Adobe Photoshop CS2, opened it in Adobe ImageReady and started slicing. I’ve saved it as a “web optimized” file which I guess is a .gif. I want to upload it to see my progress.. Well… I was given access to my friend’s server to (which he uses Plesk) and there are so many files that I’m thoroughly confused. I’ve read that I’m supposed to put my stuff in httpsdoc but… please help..

I am trying to find someone who can build me a new website I have a party service business and also sell gift baskets for different party themes I just need a pretty basic site built but I am wondering if the web desingner will be responsilbe for doing all the gift basket photos and descriptions or do I need to prepair them onto a cd ?

Im wondering.. is there any software or tool (web based or otherwise) that helps and streamlines the whole technical and functional specification writing process so that we as developers/website can sit with clients, assess what they want to create/achieve and write up the spec efficiently and easily so that when its approved it can easily be passed onto the webdev people and they can create what is set out in the specification?

I’m a webmaster (6 years) and I never really thought about starting my own web design business until I was laid off and stuck at home doing small web design jobs.

Lately I’ve been running across so many websites that needs to be developed. And I’m stuck when it comes to contacting them and letting them know about my service.

Is there a proper way of telling them about my service, I dont want to come TOO professional that they’ll think I’m a Spam or a big web design firm.

Any suggestions on how to email potential clients? Thanks!

Hello! Welcome. I’m doing a project at school in history. We are designing a basic board game, to do with chronology and time. Me and my other friend (Ben) we are making a game and what you do is, like because there is a pyramid in the middle, and at the edges around it are little sections (i.e Go! Stop! Question! Star!) similar to monopoly, but the money is replace with roman coins and/tickest and you have a dice, roll the dice and move your character around several steps corrisponding to the number on the die. If you land on a question, you must answer it correctly earning you a roman coin, 2 roman coins = 2 steps up the pyramid. If you get it wrong, you move down on the coin. at the back of the roman coins is a number and you can use it to get more tickets equalling more chances to go up the pyramid and win. but ive ad aproblem with da logo do u like it?

on google, type in “Logo Web 2.0 STYLr” and on the main front page at the right hand side it says “Time Maze” in sum colours. do you like the logo?
Please answer. Only a few words will do. Tell me what is good and bad, and tell me how can I improve it. I only need a few words from you lot. Thank You!

The tickets ARE roman coins. And at the back of them is a number; if the number is 4 but you answered the question correctly, you go down 4 steps.

Best ways to get a web design job online?

I know for sure the hardest part of getting a job with web design is getting your name out there but what are some tips on getting your name out there just through the web? I know doing volunteer websites are one. I want to create a portfolio website for myself but I currently can’t afford a domain and monthly hosting yet.

I’m about 4-5 years of self-taught HTML and CSS with a about almost a year of experience with PHP. I’ve been designing with photoshop for about 2-3 years now and there’s a lot of professional designs I have done.

What else could I possibly do to get my name out there some more and get myself a web designing job? I also prefer not to code but I can if I have to and I like to do pretty basic websites for people. I still need a lot of experience with databases and mySQL so I don’t really want to do anything too big too.

Should my hog roasting business have a modern look or traditional logo?

I’m starting a new company called Arrow Valley Hog Roast. Basically we will cater for domestic and corporate events like Birthdays, weddings, Anniversaries, Car dealership openings etc.
The look and feel of our brand identity is important to me. I would like a logo to reflect friendliness, professionalism, good quality and good values- that can be well used in our marketing and promotions literature.
I want to steer away from cliché’s like cartoon pig mascots with garish colours. (Even slightly wary about having a pig/hog image included at all, because it seems obvious, easy and undifferentiating to other designs….however it may be a mistake not to include a pig image? It is what it is!
I’m uncertain whether to commission a traditional looking logo (woodcut effect/emblem/decorative etc) or go with a more modern minimal look that’s like web 2.0/abstract etc..
Any advice would be appreciated.
