I’m at the stage of shopping around for a web design company, do I need to have an agreement with everyone of these companies before I speak with them…

It wouldn’t hurt. it will only protect your idea to a certain degree.

It depends how you are looking for a company.

If you are just calling random companies you could always share your concerns of non-disclosure and ask for an agreement. You may have to provide your own written agreement for them to sign. If they are not willing to work through your concerns on something like this, you can bet they won’t be a good match for your project.

I recommend using a web designer or web design company that has a reputation or start asking friends and family for a company they trust.
