How do you become a video game designer?

When it comes to video game design (as far as coding goes and possibly graphic design), if you have a CS degree from a 4 year college is it necessary to attend a trade school such as devrey as well or should your degree be enough training / is training issued at corporations such as soney.etc.?
What U need most is fantasy!!!
