How do you network after you get their business card?

Hi, I need to know what are you suppose to do after you receive a business card and get home? How are you suppose to network after the first encounter? Do you email them the night after or what?
if you are trying to sell something then yes for sure. a follow up or summary (minutes or agenda) of the meeting is very essential.
Yeah emailing them to connect or thank them for the conversation can’t hurt… I usually follow people’s blogs or twitters if they are on the card.
