Logo designing software for business cards, flyers t-shirts ect.?

Im am helping out a new track manager for a race track. We would like to come with a new logo for it. Is there any good software for this?

    Don’t go for the clip art crap. Just hire a cheap freelance designer or a student, you can get a well designed one for less than buying software.

    Buying software is one thing, knowing how to use it is another. In the graphic design business we use Adobe Illustrator for logo design. It is a vector program rather than pixel, like Adobe Photoshop. Illustrator is really expensive, and if you’re willing to shell out the bucks for it, have it designed professionally.
