Should I take a fast track intensive course in graphic design or take individual courses?

Parsons offers a certificate in graphic/digital design and I’m debating whether I should take the fast track course which is the Graphic/Digital Design Basic Core class which combines a bunch of courses in one. Or should I take all the classes that make up that class individually (i.e. Graphic Design, Color Theory, Digital Imaging with Photoshop/Illustrator)?

It depends on what your priority is. If you already are familiar with the subjects, and want to be done quickly, then take the fast track. If you are just starting out, then you would probably benefit more from the individual courses.
I think the school you go to for graphic design can govern how well you do for employment. It’s a tough reality that applies to many studies I’m afraid. Employers will look for the latest programs you know (these days its everything for graphic design, some animation and web application). You definitely need to know the basics of colour theory etc. but most importantly during this time you should be developing your portfolio with mock projects and you can’t rush that. Thorough schooling now means not having to go back later.
