Who do you think came up with the way everyday things look like? For example the box of cereal you eat in the morning, your dog’s food cans or the cover of your favorite CD. The design of these and many other simple things are made by graphic designers. Today I will tell you some information about being a graphic designer. I’ll tell you about their job, the preparation needed to become one, and some aspects of being one.

In the future I’d like to become a graphic designer specialist because I would like to work in a job that is related to art, as it is something I enjoy. I believe being a graphic designer is the best thing I can do in the arts field because you have to use your creativity and skills to meet a certain goal. Being a graphic designer means I would go through a lot of risk and rejection, as clients have a strong idea of what they want and if you can’t grasp the concept and do a good job of the project they give you, you would fail and have a bad reputation to other clients. A successful graphic designer has an enviable life, choosing clients and earning significant amounts of money. This is quite hard, though as an artist style can be hot one season and old the next. This is why to be successful in this career you need to be constantly changing for the better. The majority of graphic designers have a four-year degree, usually in product design, art, or art history. Graphic designers must have talent and an understanding of the business world, including issues of finance and production, and should be familiar with computer software such as Photoshop. Basic pre-professional coursework should include design, drawing, and computer artwork, among others. Every graphic designer should have a working portfolio to demonstrate their abilities to possible clients. Some good schools nearby to gain this degree would be the Art Institute of Houston or the University of Houston. Houston is probably where I would live once I gained a little experience, since I’d have more chance to find clients in a bigger city. Graphic design covers a wide range of things to design such as products in stores, websites, even illustrations in medical textbooks or commercial billboards. This is why it is best to specialize in one field, but be open to new opportunities.
Graphic designers get an average of $46 thousand for Base Salary and bonuses of 7 hundred. Also, they get $6 thousand on health care and $2 pension. Working hours are varied as designers employed by large advertising, publishing, or design firms usually work regular hours, and designers working for smaller businesses or clients tend to work more hours. Often, you have to adjust your schedule to meet your client’s schedules and deadlines. My main reasons for being a designer would be because I enjoy art and expressing myself through it. Also, that being a designer would let e use my skills to create my own unique work and that can be very rewarding. You can also work your way up to become more known and successful, as well as gaining contacts in the art world, and this would come in useful if I decide to change my job. I would also gain experience and grow each time I tried something new. Some bad things about it would be that you have to constantly be rushing to meet deadlines, so you have to work well under pressure. Also not everyone will like your work so you will probably face rejection often, not to mention the fierce competition striving to steal your client.

I believe being a graphic designer is a very good option for me to have as a job because I would be doing something I enjoy. The list of things I could have as future projects is long and varied so it would be something new and interesting every day. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll see one of my designs in a magazine or at the store.

all courses i found is 10 classes for web design and 8 for php and they give you certificate it that enough to get a job in web designing for only 10 classes learning please can you guide me please

I graduated last year from a 4 year university with a bachelor’s in graphic design. I was lucky and managed to get a job at a small firm, which I have been at for 11 months. Since my senior year of college, I felt like design was shallow, but I was so close to graduating that I hoped I would start to love it again. But I don’t. I like design, but I’d rather it be a hobby than a career.

Where do I even start to look at for a career change? I want to do something helping other people. Nursing was the first thing I thought of. I’m not set on it, but some profession where I work with other and help people is ideal. I’m used to hospitals so I think I’d be at home with something in health care.

Money is what I’m most worried about now. I was lucky and got a scholarship for my bachelor’s degree in design. Between that and what my parents paid off, I only have about $22,000 in student loans right now, and I’m afraid of the cost of going back to school. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA from a good university, but I don’t know if that will count for anything.

Or does it even make sense for me to be thinking about this now? I’m 22 years old. Will it get better as I grow older?
The more I think about it, the more I want to get out of design. I understand there are ways to help people with it, but I don’t have the passion for it that I used to. I want to help people directly, and not through graphics.

Is web design/development still a viable career option in the US?

I’m interested in entering the field as a 30-something career changer. Out of all the IT jobs, this one is the one I’m most passionate about.

But I’ve already learned that passion doesn’t pay the bills; and web design/development doesn’t seem to be the most recession-proof gig.

Or is it?

A career change into web design/development would definitely pay more than the career I already have, but not if it’s being outsourced to someone who’ll do it for cheaper.

Thoughts?

Would you recommend becoming a web designer? Disadvantages and advantages of a career in web design please?

I was thinking about becoming a web designer when I grow up. I researched web design, and the career seems to suit me very well. But what I want to know is…would the job get boring? Could I do it all my life? What jobs could I do before web design? Are there other jobs similar to web design? How much education is recommended? Will web design be a good job in 2018-2020? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the job? Any answers would be great!

Am I more likely to find a good career in digital animation or in web design and multimedia?

I’m going to get into Graphic Design (specifically logo design and perhaps film industry art directing) after I get my Bachelor’s degree. At the moment, all I have is a high school diploma. I haven’t entered college yet, but I’m planning to start in the fall.

I’d like to know: What would be a good entry-level (preferably no training) job to prepare me for this? I’ve seen a few local firms hiring a receptionist/ front desk type person, but they all require experience. I’m not necessarily looking for something in the industry yet, just something that would be at least somewhat related to it.

How can I combine my love for music, Computer Information Systems, and Web Design into a career?

I am caught between majors and feel as though I am at a crossroads but would like to know how I can turn this predicament into an inroads and combine all these paths into one. Any suggestions?

As Ive been exploring the details of the job in the aspects of have you have 2-5 years experience in the field to get a good job at a firm. Creative Director

Lets start at the top and work down. Art directors, or Creative Directors are responsible for a creative team that may design work for magazines, television, advertising graphics, websites, or on packaging. A creative team can consist of layout artists, graphic designers, photographers, copywriters, and menial staff to do the work. An Art directors job is to make sure that each of these workers do not slack off down the pub and complete their work to a deadline and to the client’s needs. Art directors also make major decisicions along the lines of should the background be slate grey or cobalt blue, issuing dictates and changing their mind several days after a deadline has passed – leaving co-workers resolutely glum about their position in the grand scheme of things. Art directors will inevitably have come from some kind of marketing or sales background and need no prior graphic design knowledge or skill.

Senior Designer

A Senior Designer is mainly concerned with the visual aspects of a company and will probably have been promoted on the basis that she is fun and a ‘great team player’ (despite this being far from the case). A Senior Designer will usually insist on having a larger widescreen monitor than the rest of the team which will be decorated variously with fluffy pink bits marketing people send through on a daily basis. A Senior Designer will be involved in the elements of a company’s look such as business cards, stationery, packaging design, media advertising graphics, promotional design, and sticking up pictures of topless ‘hunks’.

Graphic Designer

The job of a Graphic Designer is to provide a new and exciting way to express the key information of a company or product through a dynamic image or use of typography. Graphic Designers take the scant information given to them by the client and using the internet to scab some free clip art, fashion their own ripped off logo designs in order to fleece the client for all they are worth.

Layout Artists and Artworkers

The engine room of the design world. These scumbags have been buried away with their dusty macs for decades, remorselessly churning out pages and layouts. Inevitably some clueless muppet will send over a 100 page brochure layed out in microsoft word and it will be the Artworkers thankless task to make it publishable. They will need to recognise a font at 50 yards, be able to colour correct the dreariest of images and take a good bollocking every now and again to keep them on their toes. The Artworker must have the ability to design magazines, design brochures, design flyers, design books and design posters. He harbours murder fantasies.

Illustrators

Illustrators generally speaking will have long greying hair and be influenced by prog rock. Working from home among the dungeon and dragonns figurines and manga comics they will attempt to put their own unique spin on whatever brief they are given. What you will be presented with is a semi clad girl with oversized boobs. You will have waited several weeks for this. You will never learn from previous mistakes.

Web Designers

Web designers create the pages, layout, and graphics for web pages, they will be technically minded to the point of absurdity. They will insist on using c++ coding language to impress other geeks and will beaver away doing whatever it is geeks do for hours on end. Web designers also design and develop the navigation tools of a site which will for design websites involve tiny text that makes your eyes bleed. Web designers are far too clever for their own good and should never be encouraged.
