I am to the point where I need to design a logo for my internet startup – a social network. I will either have one of the top national firms design the logo (such as LogoBee or Logo Design Guru) or else contract a very good graphic designer. Would any of you have any concerns about using a large national firm to design a logo instead of finding a good individual to do it?

I spent thousands of dollars for a web design company to build my site for 3 years. It’s almost complete to the point where I’m almost ready to launch. Their designers made little mistakes that compiled to 13 things, and their telling me that its too many things for them to solve, so their going to have to quote me. They are based in Utah. Who regulates companies like these? What are the best ways in getting what I need done?

i’ve been doing graphic design/photo editing stuff for a while and i’ve decided to start a more serious side project than any of my older “companies” to scrape up some extra cash.i’ll be focusing mainly on t-shirt designs, myspace/web layouts, logo designs, and album art

this time around i want a much more serious name to suit the feel of the company unlike any of the other silly names i’ve previously used (ie: thunderpunch!, zacky b designs, and steez’d) i want a more serious, simple, and modern name

i’ve already brainstomred the following,
elktrk
advent design
and vizion

all of which are taken by numerous people
i don’t care if the name is taken already just as long as it’s not the name of 100 other design companies or is trademarked by some bigtime design firm.

For obtaining a business license, you must choose one of the different categories for the business type. What would a web design, hosting, and management company be considered? I was thinking computer programming, but that doesn’t seem right. THANKS!
