My husband has yet to finish his Associate’s degree in Graphic design and would like to know could he get a job without a degree, though he has a very impressive portfolio, knows all of the programs, and have been doing some freelance graphic design work on the side, creating logos for bands and things like that?

I am currently a graphic designer, but Ive been thinking about taking some online classes to become certified in or obtain a degree in web design. I am trying to get more information about what its like to graduate from here in a similar degree program for web design. Like is it worth the cost of tuition I have the GI Bill going is not a problem. Just want to make sure its worth it. Or other options in Arizona that have degrees for web design. Also job placement likeley hood when you graduate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ll have my Associates in Computer/Web Programming and Certificate in Digital Media Technology sometime in 2010 and I’ve decided I want to do something with the web, mostly web design and/or development for my bachelors. I think at this point in my life, getting a Bachelors of Arts would take longer than 2 years and I don’t want to take forever to get it. Would a Bachelors in Management Information Systems ever be good for a career in web design or development?
I guess what I’m saying is – I haven’t taken the proper general education classes you would need for a Bachelors of Arts degree, so I don’t want to be in school for another 4 – 6 years !

I already have a bachelors degree and I got a chance to get familiar with Photoshop/Image ready/Illustrator/Flash and I really liked it. I am not able to find a job in my own field (OMIS) and thinking to get a certification in Graphic Design field. Do you know if it is worth to spend 2-3 years and the money? I already have tried to get a job in the GD field as either an intern or a low entry level but no luck by now. Does the certificate help?
