Do you need to be good at Graph Design to be a Web Designer?

I am considering looking into Web Designing as a possible career after i leave college… But I was wondering if I need to be good at Graphic Design to be a Web Designer?

Like, how do Web Designers come up with graphics and logo’s (and stuff like that) for a Website they are designing?

I just started intro to computer graphics. I want intern for a graphic design firm but all of them require at least two years experience. Is there any companies or firms that hire beginning students?

How is the actual job experience? Is it better to work with a firm or freelance? Is the money and self satisfaction worth it for me to dedicate my life to this?

I’m a Web designer who sees the incredible potential to deliver solution-oriented and focused web applications incorporating Web 2.0 technologies. I understand conceptually how these Web 2.0 technologies work and what possibilities they create. Usually I work in a team environment, but I have been venturing on my own to design the front-end functionality for a couple of web 2.0 applications that offer networked communities, personalization and highly interactive solutions in niche areas. One application in particular has a high penetration potential (i.e., millions of users collabrating on projects) and would solve a unique industry problem. I intuitively know that this effort could be complex from a database perspective as well as from an infrastructure perspective, yet I also know it’s possible because of the technologies and applications that are already available today. Do you have any advice on helping me scope out what resources the back-end development effort might require?

Would you recommend becoming a web designer? Disadvantages and advantages of a career in web design please?

I was thinking about becoming a web designer when I grow up. I researched web design, and the career seems to suit me very well. But what I want to know is…would the job get boring? Could I do it all my life? What jobs could I do before web design? Are there other jobs similar to web design? How much education is recommended? Will web design be a good job in 2018-2020? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of the job? Any answers would be great!

I just graduated from high school and I have money to spend for a new laptop. I only got about 1,340 and I’m looking for a laptop between 300-800 dollars. What’s the best type to get? I want to use graphic design programs and programs that are used in colleges.
…I don’t know much about laptops. Hah. We used apple desktops for my graphic class in highschool.
