My son wants to make video games for a living. He is applying to colleges now and has been accepted at Champlain College (VT), University of Baltimore (MD) and UMBC (MD). Is an art degree with a focus on graphic design as good as a graphic design degree?

My son has an associates degree in fine arts. He has been accepted to wou for a bachelors in art with a focus on graphic design. I was wondering if the art degree would be looked at in the same way as a graphic design degree, any Idea’s?
