Gimp Logo Tutorial –Volleyball

This is a review lesson for my class, but we make a pretty neat logo here.

What are some good FREE graphic design programs for drawing and animation? (like gimp)?

I have GIMP right now but i would like to find a program that teaches you how to animate things . Or some other program that teaches you how to draw. Or just a fun free graphic program.
