I’m 16 and into web design, where can I find work?

I’m not finding any “real” jobs around town. Everywhere I’ve checked is pretty full and I also cannot seem to find any web design jobs so I’m turning to Yahoo.

I’m a 16 year old web designer (my age seems to be my downfall) but I’ve very skilled. I just need ideas as to where I can find work. I’ve tried Get a Freelancer and other sites but I’ve had no success yet. Is there any place that will hire me and allow me to work from home (I doubt theres anywhere locally) that I would be able to send examples of previous work to?

Any help finding some web design jobs would be outstanding. Thanks.

if I buy a computer with an AMD processor… Will ALL my graphic design programs still work?

I was about to buy my computer with an Intel processor, but when I saw the price of the same computer but with an AMD processor I was like OMG, so cheap.
But I am afraid, as I’ve read articles where people say that AMD processors are “incredibly incompatible with everything”, and that you get “tons of incompatibility errors” under windows…
I specifically want to know if my Adobe Creative Suit will still work exactly the same way as they do under intel processors ?
or you recommend me to buy the Intel processor?
I will buy a Quad Core 2.6 Ghz X4 Amd Ii processor or better

Work in Japan as graphic artist, advertising? How about starting a business?

This is more of a what-if? question. As at this point, I don’t seriously intend to move to Japan but like to think about it…We (wife + I ) would want to be in Kyoto (or maybe elsewhere in Kansai – but mostly Kyoto)

I have 20+ years self employed experience in graphic arts, illustration, design (Mac) – as well as copy-writing, art direction.. I currently work mostly for fashion, retail and travel clients, I have a strong work ethic.. I know there is a lot of English marketing and design already in Japan and with my experience I imagine I would be a terrific asset to a small firm.. I can also draw “kawaee” little logo characters, and do a lot of “youth-oreinted’ kind of work.
any ideas if I could find work easily? what kind of pay?

If I were to re-locate and cash out my assets here, would have in the neighbourhood of 50million Yen. How easy would it be for a Gaijin to buy a home or start a (izakaya) business with that kind of money?

I am a just starting out my career in graphic arts. I went to school and I am a few classes shy of completing my bachelors degree. I need to get out and work so that I am holding more that a piece of paper on graduation day. My resume looks like someone forgot to write it. My portfolio is far from polished, but it is mostly school projects. I am scared about the job market. Any advice from working professionals?

Additional Information:
I am looking to work in a graphic media or graphic design firm. I need to make some real money because I do have student loans and my own living expenses.

There are annoying anti-war hippies right out side my office. Why don’t they respect my right to work in peace

So about 50 hippies and other… ummmm interesting people code pink, answer, a guy with a sign that says no war for oil (he got out of a big SUV btw) are outside my office in San Jose protesting… I guess they don’t realize that this building houses accounting and graphic design firms. But they are outside in orange jump suits and holding signs that say “Stop torture”. I don’t have access to the top 8 floors but I am sure there is no torture going on here.

Now I have been watching them for a few minutes, why are the same 3 cars driving in circles around the building honking the horn? Is it to look like people actually care about their idiocy?

Do these people have jobs? Or are they paid to annoy accounting firms who deal with businesses not the government?

Should I go to their jobs and annoy them? Actually from the looks of the crowd, few actually work.

Should I go out side and practice my right to flip them the bird?

Anyone in San Jose want to join me?
More info… Awww they gone and gave up… poor hippies.

Trust me I don’t have to ask if they have jobs, it is VERY obvious that most do not or have a job where they don’t work with the general public.

No I am not an accountant; I work for an accounting firm. I am more like an event coordinator… sounds weird, well it is.

BTW apparently People missed where I said they have a right to protest, but I have a right to be left alone. They can waste all the time in the world as far as I care, just let me work in peace.

Ummm actualy woudn’t me going to work count as the right to peacably assemble? I mean after all I am gatheirng together with like minded people to accomplish something. by them disrupting us, is that not infringing on my rights?

I’m 21. Just got a graphic design internship for a restuarant/nightclub company. I have so many dreams that I’d like to achieve for my future. Like working for a huge company like a ad agency or a design firm here in southern California. Can some suggest which company is like number 1 or at least give me a list of the top 5 companies that are best to work for as a graphic designer?

I have been out of school for 2 years. I have been doing freelance graphic design for 5 years. I am in Denver CO and cannot find a steady job. Everyone wants someone with 2-5 in a firm, does my freelance experience count for anything? Suggestions? Help?
