What is involved in web design? Graphic design? Computer Programming?

I would like to know more about web design classes, and how it is as a temporary and possible long term career. I have taken classes in C++ programing and was good at it, and I enjoyed it. I have also been thinking graphic design, I’m pretty creative and can draw alright–but I will admit that I’m not the best at drawing.

People who already work in the field, or are taking classes would be very much appreciated if they answered this. :)

I’m in a 4 year Co-op program in college. Honestly, I see that there are 2 types of direction you can go in this field.

    1. The Creative/Design side
    2. The Programming side

If you liked your c++ classes and enjoyed developing code, you’d probably want to be a software developer, or programmer. However, if you like working with design and asthetics, you’d probably like to be a web designer.

If you’re into both, a web developer needs to know the programming side, and design side. So manly you would need to study PHP, Java, Javascript, C #
