What is the Best way to market a web design company?

I recently started a web design company. I would like to get some ideas of how to market myself without spending a lot of money. and where to market. I cater to small businesses and start-ups with small budgets.
Use the internet – maybe you missed that part of your training.
Get your own website
Unless you really plan it out, this is going to be a tough. I am not trying to say don’t do it, I am just saying your going to have to go all the way with it.
If you do search engine optimization (and you’re good at it) set your site up for a good search term and have people find you.
Right now if you search “website design services” on Yahoo my Web Design Fire site shows up on the first page which is where a lot of my business comes from. Of course I’m updating my site in a few days which will probably mess with my rankings a bit, but I’ll end up back on page 1 soon enough. Anyway having people find you helps a lot.
