where can i find an open source web design tool that is similar to frontpage, but not nvu?

must be free, downloadable, also, are there any places to find resources for nvu i.e. sample projects or tutorials that are video based or at least illustrated with screenshots?

Try NVu or Emacs with relevant plug-ins added. Vim also makes a good candidate.
Quanta was going good a while ago, but not hearing much about it these days.
I have been using Kompozer and it works great. The only thing is that it usually crashes when I have too many projects running at the same time. Other than that it is great and free. I also use GIMP for all my photo editing needs. Hope this helps.
